I have been going to Ed's for almost 20 years, since my first trip to nearby Boy Scout camp. Food is great. As described by others, it is a small town burger joint. That being said, the other menu items are equally good. Fried chicken, meatloaf, "diner" type dishes. True, bathrooms grungy. Waitresses (mostly local high school girls) more than make up for it, with relatively fast and very friendly service! Favorite meal; Pub burger with bacon, hold the salad (lettuce, tomato, onion) and add grilled onions, side of onion rings and a blueberry milkshake. Try it and you WILL be back.

Don't order the lunch special, it takes forever. We got veggie plates (pre cooked) and people that came in after us got burgers and fries (cooked per order) got theirs before us. Go figure.

Just left ed's restaurant upset got their before 10 watch the girl clean tables for over 10 minutes then I had to get and ask for menus. The girl got our drink order wrong and wanted to argue with us about when breakfast was and she had no customer service, you would think that someone you work for tips would not upset her customers. Now I have a upset wife and a messed up Labor Day. Will not go back for breakfast anytime soon.

I will start by saying the food was good, cooked to order, good coleslaw, good sweet tea, ect. however, a gentleman sat next to us legs folded, no shoes on and his feet were black and had sores on them, this guy was however clearly not homeless. I told the waitress and she said she would take care of it (no one wants to eat with nasty feet only 2 feet away) well she never did anything. on the way out I told the manager and she simply said there was nothing they could do. ARE YOU KIDDING? discusting. people please wear shoes when going out to eat.

4 of us came here for lunch today. We tried the pub burger, pulled pork, squash casserole, onion rings and tots. The burger was huge, pulled pork was delish. The ranch to go along with our fries was the real deal. Squash casserole was not our favorite, the first thing we said was, "where's the squash." The restaurant itself is a little grungy but it seems to be a local favorite. We will return!

Really good burgers! Stopped here on our way to Georgia, Savannah. It was worth the 3 mile detour.

Always great food! Sure it's busy but what do you expect? It's not fast food!! Oreo milkshakes are the best!

The food is wonderful,Love the coleslaw. But the last time I been in the restaurant it was completely filthy,Flys were everywhere. The workers were also rude. However,I will say that was some years ago and the last time I went to sit and eat.I have been just to pick up food two times after this and both times the workers were nice.Still Kind of pricey though.

Small town tasty-freeze it may be, but you won't find a better burger anywhere. You have to try the pub burger. A giant 10 oz. fresh beef burger. They also have delicious fried chicken and home made desserts. It's not a fancy place, but the food is excellent and the prices are great.

Ed's has great burgers and great milkshakes. I talk all my out of town guests to Ed's for a burger whenever I have company. It would be a great place to make a pit stop at on your annual trip to the beautiful beaches of Walton County, home of Ed's. I've always felt that the serving sizes where plentiful, and the burgers were perfect. This is a place that you don't order salads at though, so don't come expecting a spinach leaf salad with sunflower seeds and dried cranberries. There are three "problems" with Ed's but they don't involve the service or food. 1) Sometimes its too busy, but that's because the food is so great. They added on to the place, but you can tell they need to relocate the business to an even bigger establishment. 2) The parking lot requires a lot of three point turns to get in and out of. The exit route to HWY 90 seems a little dangerous, but with a new red light that's recently been installed, It should be some what easier. I always dread the parking lot, entering, and exiting. Hopefully when you go, there will be more space for you. 3) The bathrooms are not the best here. They are located outdoors like an old fashioned gas station and not the nicest. I would suggest not going to the bathroom here if at all possible.

Five Guys and their burgers and fries need not apply for a burger license in DFS so long as Ed's is selling their Pub burger! This burger is every bit as flavorful and big as the Five Guys and is cheaper. True, they don't have as many toppings, but what makes a good burger is the meat and the bun, not BBQ sauce, mushrooms, etc, etc. The patty is 10 oz, fresh, not frozen, beef on a custom designed bun and grilled to order. (check out the pics from another poster) The toppings are standard but certainly adequate. Unlike Five Guys, they compliment rather than overpower the meat and bun. In addition to the Pub burger (I have no ideal where the name came from) I went with a side of the Chive Potato Wedges which came with a ranch style sour cream sauce. They were a nice compliment but a little more starch than I like, so I'll try the O'rings next time. If you're in a hurry I would call ahead since the wait time for my to go order was 15 minutes, still it was certainly worth it for fresh food.

I haven't had food this good in a long time. The Chive Potato wedges are amazing and the sweet tea is to die for.

A great hole in the wall, down home, real food place. They are famous for the "pub burger" and people line up to eat here. Never having tried the huge burger, I have settled for the smallest on the menu and it is more than enough. Hand pattied lean beef with the freshest toppings you can desire. Do not miss the onion rings. Large, crunchy, doesn't get any better. The malts and shakes are huge and hand made. We go here whenever in town, passing right on by chains to locate Ed's beside a used car lot! With 2 steerburgers, onion rings and 2 shakes, the tab with tip is still below $20. The best bargain in the panhandle, I was almost afriad to let this secret out. A must try. Do not let the outside or decor fool you. This is the real thing!
